The first thing to consider is what country do you live in. Living in the UK you have to pay great attention to your weather. How often does it rain? How much sunlight do you get a year? You have to consider all those things if you want to buy outdoor furniture. Hot or dry weather can make some wooden furniture crack and splinter and strong winds can cause light aluminum furniture to fly in the wind.

It is important to measure the space that you have available. Is it long with a close balcony or a broad and spacious terrace. Use the field and shape of your balcony, patio or porch to calculate the size of your outdoor furniture you want to buy. Do not forget to leave enough space around your furniture because you have to walk comfortably. In small space, a set of tables may work better than a large table, stools can also make your room safe.

Make it a priority to get materials that will be the best match for your background.
It’s a mistake to place rustic oak furniture on a grassy space and in an open area that gets a large amount of sunlight. The moisture from the land can cause the wood to decay and the sunlight will make it fade. Buy patio umbrellas for shade if you there is too much sun.

Why not buy the best materials, its essential. Don’t just base your decision on the look of the furniture, as if you want it to weather to test of time and the elements then the quality of the materials will be your best choice. Outdoor materials such as aluminum do not need too much care and iron products can last for a really long time and can take heat and dampness.

Taking all these factors into consideration in summary plan your purchases and don’t be afraid to pay a little more than usual to get quality that will last.

The newest craze to light up the electronics world is 3D televisions. At the moment the user still needs to wear special active glasses to view them, but the expectation is that in the future one will be able to view 3D TV without the need of any external equipment.

The technology is still very new and the picture quality varies from one movie to the next. Having said that however, directors of animated movies prefer to make their film into 3D because they do not require any special cameras and additional filming equipment.

Some of the TV manufacturers are introducing 3D starter kits offering a full HD Blu-ray player and a movie, along with the shutter glasses to accompany the purchase of a 3D TV. Manufacturers are doing this to try to capture the interest in the customer and throwing in some freebies to make the deal more attractive.

However with the way the economic climate is currently, these 3D ready TVs are not taking off as predicted. A plus point is that most of these 3D television sets are both 3D and internet compatible making access to 3D movies more accessible and further more reducing the cost of having these premium facility.

Over the next 10 years we should see a increase in the amount of households with 3D tvs. As technology progresses and they become cheaper to manufacture then this will drive the price down and become affordable for many more people. Another key element of their success will be making the requirement of any external equipment like the shutter glasses obsolete and allow the consumer to watch 3D just the same as 2D.

Modernising your home can be a tricky and daunting task and picking pieces of furniture that go well together and fit in with the overall design of the home can take some time.

Modern furniture design places an emphasis on simplicity but rather than creating a bland interior in bold shades of black and white, a textbook modern room incorporates striking splashes of color to contrast with the minimalist surroundings. For example to offset the bold and dark presence of the television why not accessorise and accompany it with a colorful lamp or piece of artwork.

No matter which room you decide to redecorate, remember that modern furniture design emphasises simple sturdiness and functionality. Pair metals and plastics with rich fabrics and patterns and simplify by only purchasing the pieces you need for convenient living.

Lighting is an extremely important part of interior design. Dimmed light and some strategically placed reflective surfaces can add to a room’s perceived size and the use of mood lighting or even colored lighting can dramatically enhance the look of your furniture.

Originality is key and if you like the dark and bold look then choose sofas and chairs that are fashioned from dark woods or even metals. Take inspiration from everywhere but most of all you need to be happy with your choices and ensure they fit in with your daily life.

Sunglasses are always a must buy accessory every summer if you first of all want protect your eyes and stop yourself frowning at all times and secondly to look stylish. Sunglasses cover the most vulnerable areas of your face, your eyes and the area round it, that are most affected by exposure to the sun.

Sunglasses are used not only for looking cool but also in many sports. They are extremely important in sports like cycling and golf as sunlight glare can hamper performance. You should select frames that are designed for the sport and the fashion stakes are definitely secondary when selecting frames.

It is essential to choose light weighted sunglasses which are made of quality, durable and unbreakable material. The materials which are used to make sunglasses should not eventually fade because of long time exposure to sunlight. Then, you should choose best lenses for sports sunglasses. Finally, you should try to choose sports sunglasses with adjustable nose pads so as to make a comfortable wearing.

Of course, sports sunglasses are not only applied to get a good appearance along with hobby sports such as cycling, running or swimming and they can be used in competitive sports like football or rugby as visual aids. Since sports sunglasses were originally designed to protect the eyes during sports games, they not only shield eyes from some unexpected flying things, but also provide vision aids for users as long as you buy prescription sports sunglasses.

There was a time when the most powerful and high spec computer in any household would be a parent’s work laptop. Now, though, employees may well have more advanced devices at home than they do at work. This innovative change is based on a simple idea: many of a companies younger employees would rather use their own laptops than corporate issued systems.

Often, when presented with out dated, standard-issue corporate laptops, employees raise the request to use their own. However while it could be cheaper for the company to do so, most refuse the request on security grounds. Besides email companies have been careful to protect corporate systems from bugs and viruses via an unsecure personal laptop.

While the use of personal devices on a traditional corporate network can create security and legal issues, there’s a potential solution. This is solution comes in the form of cloud adoption. The idea behind this is when work is done in the cloud it does not matter what they bring in on their laptops as the data is stored and secured in the cloud.

One reason to consider allowing employees to use personal devices in the workplace is to bridge the expectations of younger and older employees. That way, companies can create an atmosphere that helps retain younger workers, while keeping older workers happy.

This innovative idea can be applied to other office equipment and in effect will reduced the office furniture supply budgets and saves money to be used on other areas in the business.

Cycling these days is becoming increasingly popular amongst all ages. Cycling is everywhere and you can rarely go on a journey without seeing brightly coloured, latex clad cyclists gliding silently in groups or a solitary rider hugging the side the road.

Cycling like golf is a social activity and now resorts abroad have realized this and cycling holiday packages have been put together to accommodate for this sun seeking fitness enthusiasts. Similar to skiing a normal day abroad would consist of daytime cycling with a group of friends followed by an ‘apres cycle’ in the local bars and restaurants. A great way to enjoy yourself while burning off last night’s alcohol intake with a long scenic ride.

Equipment is another similarity to golf and is also a factor with newbies to the sport. Starting up the sport costs money and a road bike can costs anywhere in the range of £100 to £15000 depending on the quality and brand. Along with a bike, cyclists will need to buy all the clothing, helmet, shoes and tools to service the bike.

Cycling is a great way to stay fit and the increased social element to the sport is only going to make it more popular.

Finding decent quality vintage clothing is not a simple task these days and it certainly is not a quick process. Searching through thrift stores all day, you may not come home with anything wearable.

Shopping online for these rare items may be your most practical bet and these days a more popular than ever. All the vintage items available are normally handpicked, measured, and rated on their quality.

Vintage clothing sites are usually accommodating with special requests as well, so if you are looking for something in particular, or in a certain size, all you have to do is ask.

Let’s face it guys there aren’t many of us that actually like hitting the highstreet for a days shopping. Given the choice between a day in the pub watching football and a day trawling the shops with the missus, I certainly know which I prefer. That, however, is not to say men don’t like looking good and keeping abreast of the latest fashion trends. The old look good feel good factor is as true as ever.

So here’s the problem in question, where do you buy latest garments without the agro of traipsing round the high street? It’s simple, the Internet, or mail order but lets face it that’s a little old fashioned. To be honest the best days are behind mailorder catalogues like Littlewoods, we all remember the days where you could buy your favourite checked shirt for only £1.27 a week for 52 weeks of the year. Happy days!

Things have moved on and most high street stores eg Miss Sixty have there own website where you can purchase mens clothing and accessories and have it delivered direct to your door. It’s a luxury, never having to leave your house to do your shopping, the main problem you have, however, is actually finding the bits you like amongst the vast array of different menswear websites. We love the Internet; it allows us to do pretty much everything from our own armchair. It’s ease and convenience at the click of a mouse. What we don’t like is scrawling through website after website to do it.

New websites are emerging aimed at picking the best bits from the web. Take pickoftheweek.co.uk, they pride themselves on bringing you the best menswear and technology picks each week. Essentially they’re taking away all the work of searching the Internet for the best mens clothes by bringing you the coolest, on trend items week by week. They’re that good we’ve found ourselves setting Pick of the Week as our homepage!

Nobody is saying it’s not all about sitting behind a computer to buy all your clothes and groceries, you need to get out there and interact, socialise and all that, I just know I’d rather do my socialising in the pub rather than as appose to wandering down the highstreet on a Saturday.

Starting out this article lets get straight in the features of five finger shoes and there are some important features to be identified and understand. The idea behind these shoes are to allow someone to feel what it’s like to go barefoot during all your activities while still having some protection.

The objective is to bring people closer to earth, to allow them to feel the ground under their feet and to have a healthier more natural walk. The five finger shoes will help improve the users running and athletic performance.

Their answer to the critics is “They provide little support for your feet but the belief is that the foot is designed perfectly as is and does not require an artificial arch from your typical running shoe”.

Being a marathon runner myself it is hard to believe that these shoes provide enough protection for long distance running but I have read many reviews in running magazines and from running communities that suggest otherwise. In fact they boast about another major advantage being the durable material that they are made out of and the simplicity to maintain them. They are very easy to wash and even easier to dry. These shoes are very functional for outdoor activities.

I believe these are the shoes of the future and will become more and more popular over the years.

In the time of the year just before all of the big films arrive to our big screens, we await patiently to see the visual hallmarks of the next releases. Amongst the big hits surely to attract masses to cosey cinemas over the winter are David Cronenberg’s The Dangerous Method concerning Karl Jung and Sigmund Freud’s conflicts and secrets, together with the magical period drama Jane Eyre directed by Cary Fukunaga. Both will be showing at most inner London theatres, with the O2 Arena in London one of the most popular. While overwhelming success at the Venice film festival was had, Cronenberg’s period drama’s design may be overshadowed by other strengths such as the A list cast or the commonly known subjects: Jung and Freud. Sister of David, Denise Cronenberg is the costume designer and has worked on a long string of non period based dramas so this ought to be an interesting change however. Based on the 1847 novel, Jane Eyre looks to be a particular design standout, with costumes designed by Michael O’connor of the Oscar Winning The Duchess (2008). An understated view of an orphan’s love story, this delicately told film has reviews hailing its authenticity. The Hollywood reporter remark there are ‘no shortage of delicate lace-trimmed dresses, satin lace-up boots, vintage prints and silk-flower embellishments throughout the film, making it one of the year’s most stunning period pieces.’ O’conner and Fukunaga have worked together to create many of the costumes stitch by stitch, rather than sourcing from collectors and vintage suppliers. The outcome looks to be particularly distcinctive and modest, and a standout for period dramas alike.

When you move into a new house, you often feel the need to make it your own- to put your design ‘stamp’ on it, preparing the space for the long shared life ahead. Often, the first intuitive step is to go to popular furniture stores and pick out a range of matching pieces: a sofa set, a dining table, a coffee table and the relevant matching accessories to compliment. With interior design trends moving toward using recycled materials in creative ways, the first step maybe should be working with what you already own.

For seating, for example, there are a range of new cardboard options available, transforming a few sheets of cardboard into a usable, hardy piece of furniture with a difference. Sites like instructables.com offer unique inspirations for transforming recycled goods into something usable. There are stools made from Road signs, tables made from bottle caps, shelving units made from beer crates; the choices are only bound by your imagination.

All of a sudden, when you begin to create ideas for furniture, all together your own, the popular shops don’t seem to compare. Of course you don’t want a whole house full of recycled furniture, but maybe, beginning with making the space unique- and then moving to get the ‘staple’ long lasting couch and dining suite, could be a nice new way of approaching interior decorating. As a positive side affect of recycling furniture, you might also find you save money and achieve a greater sense of satisfaction in the process.

Boat shoes have always been popular footwear for men for decades both for causal wear and smart wear. Originally, boat shoes were meant to be worn while walking on the slippery deck of a boat. The leather uppers are treated with a water-repellent oil, and special non-skid rubber soles give the shoes adequate traction. The low profile, similar to that of a slipper or loafer, makes it easier to get in and out of boat shoes quickly.

The shoe shave become extremely fashionable footwear and over the past few years have been readily available from most high street shoes/fashion stores. The shoe is considered to be less formal than dress shoes but more formal than loafers. Boat shoes suggest a casual athleticism and an eye toward style. This style of shoes can be worn with or without socks, although many prefer a sockless appearance.

Boat shoes are an extremely practical accessory they can be worn casually go shopping in town, formally to accompany a nice suit jacket and jeans combination or even around the club house after a round of golf. Style experts suggest that loafers should be worn with “office casual” attire such as jeans and button-down shirts, and boat shoes should be worn with sportier ensembles that might include clothing such as khaki shorts and golf shirts or polo shirts. Boat shoes are considered to be a three-season item, so they should not be worn during the winter except in tropical areas that are warm even in the winter months.

Quality boat shoes are not going to be cheap, but they should last for several seasons without deterioration. Several well-known manufacturers make classic styles of boat shoes that are widely available in stores. Many shoe manufacturers and retailers use the terms “boat shoes” and “top siders” interchangeably, so someone who is looking to purchase a pair of these shoes should look for either description while shopping.

Triathlons are becoming increasing popular all over the world but especially with people of all ages within the UK. This increase has been strengthened by the Olympics in 2012 in London. The Olympic triathlon event will be the only free event of the games and will draw in thousands of spectators.

A triathlon is an event that includes three disciplines: swimming, cycling and running. There is a another activity which is often classed as the fourth activity and that is the transitions between the three disciplines.

Due to this increased participation in this event, there has been a huge amount of research and development in the manufacture of specialized triathlon equipment.

Swimming:-
The essential equipment for swimming includes, a wetsuit, swimming cap and goggles. The majority of the events require the athletes to swim in open water so the equipment mentioned is essential. In the past, wetsuits were restrictive and not exactly comfortable. However newer brands do an excellent job of keeping the body warm without impeding movement in any way. Besides, these also provide buoyancy to swimmers, a priceless advantage.

Cycling:-
The bicycles used in triathlon races are different from ordinary bicycles, in that they reduce wind resistance drastically. These bicycles are designed for the specific purpose of being aerodynamically efficient. The wheels have fewer spokes and the design of the frame may be innovative in weight reduction. Clipped pedals help keep your feet on the pedal and aid a smooth rotation of the wheel.

Running:-
Shoes are an important part of triathlon equipment. Athletes may make the mistake of ignoring this important requirement or not paying sufficient attention to it. Tri shoes are designed to allow maximum comfort with extra padding. They may be worn without socks and they have straps that can be fastened quickly in order to facilitate speed.

Imagine coming in out of the typically rainy British weather and into a cosy English country house kitchen. The Aga has entirely warmed the room and filled the air with the smell of Victoria Sponge, the rain patters against the wooden window frames and the teapot is full of delicious tea. This is the kind of idyll that many fashion bloggers and photographers love to use as the backdrop for a photoshoot featuring frills, lace, anything chintzy or preppy.

If the idea of a retro photoshoot appeals to you then you have to do your research properly. Find some of the more essential parts of any English country house kitchen that are recommended by others. But the one most important items of furniture is the aga; First popular amongst housewives in the 1950s, the gorgeous stove is now a beautifully retro and iconic piece.

It is important to use furniture and products that have come from a variety of decades rather than having them shop-bought. These can range from Victorian pieces such as an iron doorstop to modern day appliances such as an espresso maker. No English country house kitchen would be complete with a few charming tea towels hung somewhere in the room.

Forget plastic doors and marble worktops, everything in an authentic English country kitchen should be wooden- including the table and chairs. This gives the room a quaint farmhouse look. Cupboards should be either natural wood or faint pastel colours for a gentle, dollhouse-like effect.

The English are renowned tea lovers. So it is best to select fine and delicate china or silver for the crockery collection. This will be in keeping with the style of the erratic English country decor and any furniture made of sturdy oak or pine will look great alongside any colourful outfit, you will be the natural host of the next boat club house party.

There’s no limit to what you can buy over the internet, and if you’re looking for shoes, you have thousands of brands and styles to choose from. However, before you push the add to cart button for the first pair of shoes that you like, you should ensure you have made the best choice possible. Shopping online is so simple that many times we forget to research the products first.

While you get some instant gratification by purchasing something online, you then have that dreaded wait for it to arrive. Shipping is always a big concern when you purchase things online and this is something that should not be forgotten when you order shoes. You might be able to get the shipping costs waived if you go the right websites, which can make a large difference in price in the end. Before purchasing your shoes on the internet, you should look into how you dress to make sure the shoes you pick out will be a good fit. When you are looking around for shoes, it can be simple to forget that your shoes make up a part of your whole wardrobe. For instance, if you want to put on a black, a brown or maroon pair of shoes probably will not go well. Or, you might see a funny color of shoes on a particular webpage and think that they look unique, but will you have to be honest with yourself about whether or not you will wear them.

Shoes need to be more than just another part of our wardrobes, they need to be comfortable, stylish, and durable not to mention fit well. Before selecting your affordable shoes online , think about what you will use them for and the amount of walking you’ll be doing in them. It’s important that you choose a shoe that will be comfortable as well as stylish.

Summer is the perfect time to spend early evenings or sunny weekends in the garden, catching up with friends and family. Many people take great pride in their gardens and great care and attention goes into the smallest details. In the past it used to gardening was a hobby enjoyed by the older generation, but currently this is not the case.

Gardening is becoming more and more popular as people begin to take more interest in their garden space as it can be a perfect location in which to host garden parties or smaller social events. With this in mind, it may be worthwhile keeping this in mind if ever finding yourself stuck for ideas for presents. There is no longer a small market for gifts which are suitable for use in the garden, there is a variety of gifts ranging from summer flowers to outdoor plants.

Birthday presents which are suitable to use in the garden don’t have to be serious, nor do they have to be practical. It is good to think outside the box sometimes, gardening gifts don’t have to be gardening tools. Some gifts can be humorous and some can be purely decorative, the advantage to this is that it means it can suit every budget. A gift which is relatively inexpensive but is something unique to place in the garden becomes a potential talking point for guests, a gift such as this is also beneficial as it contributes to the garden wildlife.

I am sure everyone probably wishes they were natural beauties from top to toe, just getting out of bed looking like an angel without putting in any effort.. Well unfortunately we are not that lucky. Thanks to some celebrities the natural beauty trend has been created where you leave the house in the morning looking gorgeous without having had brushed your hair or even have put any make-up on. Here are some hints and tips on how to style your hair in the morning but still look like a natural beauty.

An easy thing to do is to let your hair dry naturally after your shower; it might sound too obvious but it works. Or wash the hair in the evening and add some hair product such as curl gel and the gather all the hair in a bun and let it dry over night. In the morning you will have some natural waves and flicks.

Try making some waves with straighteners in different sizes randomly in the hair. Then part the waves or flicks using your fingers and add just a tiny bit of hairspray or curl spray, just enough so you do not lose the natural look.

If you want your hair looking natural but still big, use volume shampoo and conditioner; the effect may not last the whole day so add some holding hairspray.

While it’s a fact that desk lamps are widely used in desks, they are not just restricted to that. They could be used in a lot of ways and there are many forms of desk lamps. This article discusses several types of desk lamps and lighting options.

Desk lamps could be categorized depending on the task that you are going to do. The very first type may be the architect desk lamps. These include desk lamps that are designed to light a bigger area since architects work together with wide blueprints of their work. These can be utilized in wider tables, with sufficient light for each and every corner.

Bankers are one of many people who get to create a lot of paper work, whether it is at the office or in the house. They then need bankers’ desk lamps to facilitate a simpler method of working. Since bankers have to work with accounting ledgers as well as other perplexing documents, the bankers’ desk lamps permits them to work with ease.

Pharmacists have a job that whenever a mistake was made, it can lead to a serious result. They require then having the pharmacy desk lamps to enable them to sort out small pills and tablets carefully. With pharmacy desk lamps, errors can be avoided, such that you can keep the job intact.

Students do lots of thesis, research works, assignments and reviews. These activities require them to stay up through the night in order to finish whatever task they may have at hand. Student desk lamps are fantastic for them, such they can work easier. These are just right anywhere a student may be located. If you are in a dorm, then use these desk lamps so that you will never disturb your roommate if you are studying.

Henna it yet another one of my favourite pastimes. After extensive hours of research about how to do it, the best henna powder, etc. Here is what I came up with:

Jamilia henna powder seemed to be the most popular type of powder that gives the best stain. I buy mine from here. Buy the newest crop possible, and keep it refrigerated.

For beginners I suggest using this applicator bottle (also buy the metal nibs pictured below). When you are more experienced you can roll your own henna cones using mylar paper (you can buy it from the same place I buy my henna from by the meter).

To make the henna paste, you simply put as much henna paste as you would like henna paste in a bowl. You then add lemon juice (I buy pre-squeezed lemon juice) until the paste is the consistency of yogurt. You then add some sugar (this makes the paste stringy, so you can draw lines easily).

Next, you put cling film over the paste and push it down so it is touching the paste. Leave the henna paste for 24 hours so the dye can be released. This isn’t a necessity but if you can add lavender oil an hour before using the henna paste to make the stain darker.

Getting your henna into the applicator bottle is very messy (wear latex gloves!) and tricky, but I’m sure you will figure something out

Now onto creating the henna designs, practice, practice, practice! Practice on paper first before trying it out on a willing model. I find really good design inspiration from here.

Once the design has dried you want to leave the paste on for as long as possible for a darker stain (I leave mine on overnight). You can use a mix of sugar and lemon juice to keep the paste down, but I don’t find this works well. I use a cheap clear face mask to keep the paste down.

Last but not least here are some general tips

Black henna does not exist! It is normally hair dye when people claim it is black henna, do not buy it! Sometimes henna can look almost black due to how dark the stain is, but this is generally more of a dark chestnut colour.

Once you have taken the paste off the henna stain will get darker over the next 24 hours.

Heat makes the henna stain darker, try a hairdryer or even steam.

Try not to shower for at least 24 hours after you have created a henna design, this will make your henna design darker.

You can buy cheaper henna powder, but I do not find it stains as well.

The longer you keep your henna powder, it looses it’s dye potency. Use it up as quick as possible.

This goes even more so for your henna paste, after a few days the henna paste over-realases and you get puddles of oily liquid on top of the paste. It is then unusable.

I hope this will help you will your henna ventures!

Much Love,

Joelle xox

Fashion is about expressing yourself, it’s about wearing what you want to wear, being who you want to be. Whatever is your style, wear what you want to wear. Don’t feel like you have to wear the same thing that your friends do, and don’t be afraid to be different. But most importantly wear what you feel comfortable in.

Vintage Skirt, found at a car boot £20.

I don’t ever have a clue what trends are in or out, or what the latest catwalk trend is. Fashion isn’t about following trends, it’s simply about expressing yourself.

So where do you get your clothes from? I tend to steer clear of high street stores, they are unoriginal and well lets face it, bland. I get most of my clothes second hand – charity stores, swapping them, jumble sales, car boot sales and vintage stores. This way I find fantastic bargains that are completely unique.

Sequin Vintage Top, found in a flea market in America $3.

I also do a lot of DIY (cheap and eco friendly!). If I try to do at least 1 DIY per week. I get almost all my DIY inspiration from Outsapop. This is a fantastic blog filled to the brim with fashion and DIY inspiration.

Another fantastic fashion insperation website is Popgloss. It may not look like much, but it has pages and pages of unique fashion finds. On this site I have found some of the coolest tops, tights, rings – you name it!

But the ultimate fashion insperation site, has to be Lookbook.nu. I myself have a Lookbook account which you can see here. This site is a must if you are looking for fashion inspiration.
